Treehouse Sessions

Treehouse Sessions is an acoustic showcase that is a part of the Firefly Music Festival located in the heart of Dover, Delaware. Firefly is a premier music experience set among lush wooded landscapes, featuring a mix of renowned headliners and emerging artists. The showcase allows fans the opportunity to experience acoustic performances in an intimate setting. Additionally, raw, stripped down recordings are produced in their in-house studio. These recordings are then sold as limited edition vinyls at the festival. This project consists of branding, apparel, and custom vinyls. I had a lot of fun experimenting with a few new techniques!

PVRIS, being one of my favorite bands, I knew I wanted to recreate their White Noise album. I gathered much inspiration from their library of music videos, and wanted to pay homage to the original art direction of their album.

To create photocopy distortions, I manually fed my artwork via a flatbed scanner, moving the paper around to distort the final result. I experimented with different textures and shifts to create a variety of warped effects. I had a lot of fun generating my own effects through this method.

Vellum inserts, with each band member, overlaid each other and could be seen through the diecut front cover (all cut by hand by the way!)

I don’t really know what got me to wanting to experiment with alcohol inks, but I did just that for the Ghost Beach album! Below are a few scans that I later ended up using for the inside cover. It’s safe to say I’m now obsessed with alcohol inks.
